About Your Character--
Name: Liam Madden
Age: 17
Grade: senior
Looks: (two paragraphs minimum)
Liam is about 5'8 to 5'9. That kind of short for a guy his age but Liam has no problem with it, he says "short"is in. He's body is quite lean with a little bit of muscle. He's not a body builder but he likes his body to be healthy and in shape. Liam has warm brown eyes that you can't help but to fall in love with. Their surrounded with long dark lashes, which is why he bats his eyes every now and then.
Liam style is but into the category of "Emo/Scene". He wears lots of skinny jeans since he has a apple bottom. Liam states that his related to Beyonce because he can shake his "Money Maker"too! Liam adores logo shirts so he wears lots of them. Some say "Rawr" or silly things that he can't help but to chuckle at.
Liam has lots of tattoos on his arms. They cover all of the skin and some are on his neck. His favorite would have to be the stars. A bunch of people always ask if that hurt but all Liam says is "Nope they didn't hurt...but they sure did make me cry"! He has two snake bites that are attached on his lip. He doesn’t wear them alot, because he usually wakes up to late and doesn’t have time to.
Personality: (two paragraphs minimum but include character flaws)
No one is entirely sure just how Liam Madden does what Liam Madden does. He goes out all night, and then turns up straight to school, not even stopping for coffee on the way, and he’s still Liam. Of course he takes the occasional nap during a calculus class or biology exam, but that’s really due to a lack of better things to pay attention to. Teachers are forever complaining that he doesn’t have an attention span, that Liam rarely concentrates in class, often finding himself in detention and having no idea how he ended up there. The boy finds it incredibly hard to sit still; he’s not content unless he’s doing something or talking to someone, and as much as he loves sleeping, Liam has a hard time disconnecting from the real world and actually switching off. As a result he’s come to have some resentment for the night, especially when he has to spend it alone. This may sound odd, as half the time he already seems to be in his own little world, but in reality, the reason Liam is constantly falling asleep in Social Studies and Language Arts is more to do with the fact that it’s far easier for him to sleep through lessons than sleep through the night.
Just look at those eyes. Those big, brown eyes. It’s almost impossible to be angry with Liam, unless you’re determined to hate him. He makes it extremely hard, often without even realizing it. He’s far too naïve to really make an effort to get himself out of trouble with others, but if he knows something he’s involved with is going to cause serious trouble, he can spin the truth to suit his best interests. He’s not as innocent as first impressions would believe, and Liam knows more about human nature than he lets on. He knows how to make himself cry, how to shape the truth, but he hates doing so. He hates having to hurt people, but sometimes it’s basic human instinct to look after number one and even Liam isn’t so selfless as to ignore this rule. But just look at those eyes. Those big, brown eyes. You’re not really angry at him, are you? He’s like a puppy, you can’t hurt him. Liam can’t bottle emotion up as easily as other boys when something is bothering him, but he’s by no means weak. He just needs to talk when he has problems, and has to go to his friends over his family, considering the latter is almost non-existent.
Liam likes people. Liam thrives on attention. Liam likes girls. Liam likes boys. Liam likes going places and then waking up somewhere completely foreign; it means he got some sleep after all. Liam is a flirt; he doesn’t look capable of hurting a fly, as if he’s too beautiful to be able to cause harm to anything or anyone. Shame appearances are deceiving sometimes. Liam doesn’t find commitment a problem; just commitment to people he doesn’t want to really commit to. Which in the past has been just about every boy or girl that he’s ever hooked up with, and that’s ever wanted a relationship. Besides, seeing more than one person is so much more fun! As long as you never make them feel as if they’re part of some special arrangement. That they know the only person in the relationship is Liam, unless they both decide otherwise. When Liam goes out, sometimes he does things that he doesn’t remember, even when people come up to him and start talking about it, and he’s never sure whether he should play along or tell them he can’t remember who the hell they are. Liam can’t be at home, he needs to be outside, and he’s almost always at best when he’s around other people. Liam needs company and affection to feel complete. It’s not enough that he knows how beautiful he looks. People have to tell him or show him; they make it real.
Summarize? Liam really can be a sweetie. He is most of the time. He goes out of his way to look out for his friends even if hasn’t got a lot of patience and can be a bit blunt at times. Even in hearing about other peoples’ woes he remains strangely optimistic about life. Usually, apart from those little slips. There’s a reason the boy likes parties; he likes people, and he likes attention, and he likes affection. Parties normally combine the three, so what could be better! They’re even better when people give you things that make everything else in the world go away, because sometimes, you just need to sleep. Liam knows all about needing to sleep, but he’s still talkative and he smiles genuinely every single time, unless he doesn’t like you and he’s trying to be polite. Liam can be pretty scathing if he takes a disliking to you, though. You should just bake him some cookies and try to win him over. He can also be incredibly childish and immature, and says things sometimes that he should probably learn to keep to himself, but at the same time he is not a hard person to entertain or please. Liam likes people that can make him smile all the same. He likes holding hands with people, regardless of who they are. Liam is like Peter Pan sometimes. He’s spacey sometimes, and even when he does run out of his seemingly endless energy, Liam seems to be on a different planet unless you know him. He’s not normally an introvert, that’s usually a sign that something’s bothering him. A lot of the time, Liam doesn’t want to grow up, make-believe is much too fun, but it’s part of this that makes him so adorable, without Liam even realising it.
Background: (two paragraphs minimum)
Adelis Madden is, was, and always will be an extremely glamorous woman. As she sits at seventy years of age, there is no sign of her deserting her mink furs or strings of pearls for knitting needles and Martha Stewart cookbooks. Platinum blonde with porcelain skin and the proud owner of sixteen different cats, she’s high-maintenance, fiercely independent and any child’s worst nightmare, a woman never cut out to be a parent when she often acts like a child herself. Perhaps this is the reason her only child, only son Luther Madden left home at barely sixteen, hiking across the states and away from Cali until he turned up on his father’s doorstep in Mexico City. He finished school, met a girl, and that was everything laid out. By the time Luther was preparing to marry, his father had passed away peacefully, and Adelis never bothered to check up on her son; she was far too busy with her liquor and cigarette habits to be concerned. When Luther Madden married Willa Rodriguez, she was three months pregnant, and an early five months later she gave birth to their son, naming him Liam. Though Liam had no memory of this, or his parents. They were involved in a car accident when he was only a few months old. Liam wasn’t in the car at the time, and had to rely on sketchy details from his grandmother when he started asking about his parents at the age of around five.
Liam was six months old when he was moved from his parents’ apartment, across the boarders of country and state to California, so it’s unsurprising that he has no recollection of ever living anywhere but California. Of course, his grandmother wasn’t around for a lot of his childhood. It was up to nannies and nurses to raise him, though the boy wasn’t really ever that spoiled. Adelis never liked children. She wasn’t good with them; she preferred cats, and as Liam grew older, it became more obvious that he was little more than an extra person around the house to her. Whilst Adelis remains civil and relatively kind to her only remaining flesh and blood, she is still surprisingly awkward around Liam and has had very little to do with his upbringing. Perhaps it was this lack of attention that made sure Liam had a constant need for affection and attention from others, primarily friends. But whatever she did or didn’t do for him, Liam is just thankful she lets him stay in the house, and he keeps out of her way most of the time, which isn’t hard considering the size of her home. Adelis isn’t actually home as much nowadays, making frequent trips across country to see “old friends”. She has assistants and such to take care of her “babies”- the sixteen cats, all of which Liam loathes and all of which seem to return the feeling unto him, and all of which he has to refer to as “cat”, due to the fact he can never remember the elaborate titles his grandmother insists on bestowing upon the creatures.
Of course, Liam’s childhood was pretty tragic, if you’re into the whole dwelling in the past idea. The boy doesn’t like to talk about his parents for the simple reason that he feels as if he never even knew them properly, and he can’t talk about people he didn’t know. He doesn’t even own that many photos, just a few that were found when their apartment was being cleaned prior to sale. On occasion he feels guilty for not missing them, especially when others ask him if he thinks about them and he doesn’t know how quite to answer them without sounding heartless. He much prefers the present to the past, and thinking about people he doesn’t feel he ever knew. He’s become far too accustomed to looking after himself, and after all, without any brothers or sisters, and his grandmother happy to spend her own fortune on her comfort, there isn’t a lot else he can do. He’s been pretty much left to his own devices, to get on with keeping himself out of trouble and get on with his work like a good little boy. And he'll keep just referring to her as cat woman, because it's just too surreal to call a woman in Chanel sunglasses and expensive furs "Grandma". Plus she’d probably have a heart attack if he ever did so; in her company, Adelis is Adelis to everyone, regardless of their relation to her.
Liam doesn’t smoke. Liam has never been in trouble with the police, unless you take into account a caution for indecent exposure. Which totally wasn't his fault. Those are about his greatest two achievements, besides managing to almost fail Gym in fifth grade, something that he had spent most of the year working towards. As for everything else, he drinks to some extent, and has taken little pills to make everything okay again, because a lot of the time the world is fucked up and so is Liam. But these are things that go without saying of course. Liam used to end up in hospital a lot. He used to do things stupid things to himself, he used to wake up high and have to take something else to come down. Then he met certain people, and then he got sort of better, but he sometimes has relapses. He has his relapses, though. On occasion, everyone falls. But for the most part, Liam is optimistic about himself, and life.
As for the always-interesting subject of relationships, Liam falls in love far too easily, often with the way someone looks or how they smile. Shallowness comes with being incredibly good looking, and knowing as much. He’s probably had his heart broken. He’s broken hearts, he’s sure of it, and feels sort of bad that he’s not more guilty about it, but after living in Riverside for as long as he has, the boy has decided that everyone needs their heart breaking once. Even him. But since meeting his best friend in the whole world, a boy called Indy Saporta, Liam's thrown all caution to the wind as far as far as lovers go. And really, he's never been happier, because without Indy there's been days where Liam just wouldn't have got out of bed in the morning.
